TREBLE at Wincanton

01 February 2018

Nothing better than sending out winners at your local track, on Thursday we took 4 horses to Wincanton with good chances and came away with a treble

Molineaux ridden by Tom Scudamore for John & Heather Snook won the Carling Novices' Hurdle, 12 went to post with our horse sent off the 10/11F. He led after the 4th flight and despite a challenge close home from Le Musee was ridden out and won by 3/4 of a length. He jumped quick and accurately and judging by Thursdays performance is now able to go on and win some similar types of races during the spring.

Valhalla provided Tom Scu with a quick fire double in the Direct Group Novices' Limited Handicap Chase. A 3 runner race with us as the outsiders at 7/1. Valhalla tracked the leaders and took the lead after the 6th. He jumped very well on the whole to win by 2 &1/2 lengths for J P Romans & Terry Warner.A similar race with a small field will be sought again next time.

Grand Vision took the feature race the Dick Hunt Handicap Chase under Harry Cobden. He pressed the leaders for the majority of the race despite jumping slightly left (we know he prefers a left handed track ideally) at one point during the race he looked a little outpaced but he kept on galloping and the race was won with his exuberant jump at the last. As he has gotten older he has become more white as opposed to grey and this has made him become a firm favourite for many racing fans,he has quite a following. Twelve years young he now heads to the Foxhunters at the Cheltenham Festival for JK Farms & connections.
